This Privacy Policy explains how RailContent ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our website and content operations platform (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect your name, work email address, company name, and password. When you use the Service, we also store the content, tasks, workflows, and team information you or your team add to your workspace, along with basic usage data (like login times and feature usage) that helps us keep the product reliable.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to operate and improve the Service — setting up and running your workspace, processing payments, sending account-related emails (like password resets and billing receipts), providing customer support, and understanding how the product is used so we can make it better. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Data Sharing
We share information only where necessary to run the Service: with payment processors (such as Stripe and PayPal) to handle billing, with email delivery providers to send account notifications, and with other members of your own company workspace (since RailContent is a collaborative tool). We do not share your data with unrelated third parties for advertising purposes.
4. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (SSL/TLS), securely hashed passwords, encrypted storage of sensitive credentials such as API keys, rate limiting against automated attacks, and regular backups. No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or loss.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account and workspace data for as long as your account is active. If you cancel your subscription, we do not delete your workspace data — it is kept safe so you can reactivate at any time. You can ask us to permanently delete your account and data whenever you like by emailing contact@railcontent.com.
6. Google and YouTube Data
If you choose to sign in with Google or connect a YouTube channel, RailContent accesses only the Google account information and YouTube data needed to provide the features you use (for example, showing your channel's analytics or publishing a video you've approved). RailContent's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or share it except as needed to run the Service. You can disconnect a channel in the app at any time, and revoke access from your Google account permissions.
7. AI Features
When you use an AI tool (such as the script writer or title generator), the text you submit for that request is sent to our third-party AI provider to generate the result. We send only what is needed for the request, and we do not use your workspace content to build advertising profiles.
8. Cookies and Spam Protection
We use a small number of cookies to keep you logged in and remember your preferences (like light/dark mode). See our Cookie Policy for details. Our website loads fonts from Google Fonts, which may receive your IP address when a page loads. To keep our sign-up and contact forms free of bots, we may use Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks technical signals (such as your IP address and browser details) to tell humans from automated traffic.
9. Your Rights
You can access, update, or delete much of your account information directly from your workspace settings. For anything else — including a full data export or account deletion request — email us at contact@railcontent.com and we'll help.
10. Children's Privacy
RailContent is a business tool intended for use by working professionals and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as the Service evolves. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for significant changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify account owners directly.
